The February Newsletter is now available!

From the Principal:
Mr. Callaway

The Character Education word for February is courtesy. As I visit with students it is evident that many families work on being courteous at home. It is so pleasant to have students greet staff members in the hallway and ask how the day is going. Many visitors to the building comment on the nice building atmosphere and great attitude of our students. We work constantly to build connections with students and families. When a positive relationship already exists, conferencing with students and parents is more meaningful.

I really appreciate all the work families do toward educating students about the character traits. We try to lead by example, treating everyone with respect. I try to base my visits with student on how I would like my children to be treated. During conferences, I always look at all sides of an issue and consider what is reasonable within the rules that we must follow. When discussing difficult topics with parents, it is so nice to be greeted with an open mind and the best interest of everyone.

As concerns arise, feel free to contact the classroom teacher. If you have any concerns that need to be brought to my attention, I am available on most school days. On another note, our building attendance for the year is 95.21%. Thanks to everyone that has helped make that possible. As of the first of January we had 27 students with perfect attendance.

I am constantly pleased at how great the school year is progressing.

Dear Wilder Families,

Thank you for the continued support, participation and generous donations to the annual Wilder Toy Drive for Cross Lines. With your help and that of others in the community they were successful in making this holiday season joyful!

The Clothing Bank can always use new socks, underwear, hats, scarves and mittens for the winter months. When you are cleaning out your closets after the holiday, please remember the Clothing Bank with your donations. Wilder work days will be February 12 and April 21, 2010. If you are interested in helping, please feel free to call. Happy New Year!

All children who ordered books will receive them via their discussion leaders.  Thank you in advance for your help in leading these small discussion groups!  Happy reading!

If you have been taking pictures in your child’s classroom or on field trips, please submit them for possible use in the yearbook.  Please contact Gwen Thomas at 887-7013 or gwenethomas@att.net. Your help is greatly appreciated.

BOX TOPS,

Once again, Coach D will be taking care of the collection of Box Tops and Campbell Soup labels.

Please send them with your child for drop-off next to the pencil/notebook machine.  We also have two collection boxes for the ink catridges in the same location.

Every little bit helps!
