The February Newsletter is now available!
From
the Principal:
Mr. Callaway
The
Character Education word for February is courtesy.
As I visit with students it is evident that many
families work on being courteous at home. It is
so pleasant to have students greet staff members
in the hallway and ask how the day is going. Many
visitors to the building comment on the nice building
atmosphere and great attitude of our students.
We work constantly to build connections with students
and families. When a positive relationship already
exists, conferencing with students and parents
is more meaningful.
I really appreciate all the work families do
toward educating students about the character
traits. We try to lead by example, treating
everyone with respect.
I try to base my visits with student on how I would like my children to be
treated. During conferences, I always look
at all sides of an issue and consider what
is reasonable within the rules that we must follow. When discussing difficult
topics with parents, it is so nice to be greeted with an open mind and the
best
interest of everyone. As concerns arise, feel free to contact the classroom
teacher. If you have any concerns that need to be
brought to my attention, I am available on most school
days. On another note, our building attendance for
the year is 95.21%. Thanks to everyone that has helped
make that possible. As of the first of January we
had 27 students with perfect attendance.
I am constantly pleased at how great the school year is progressing.
