Westport is in the H.A.B.I.T. of learning!

H.A.B.I.T. is an acronym that helps our students to target specific behaviors that will allow them to get a better education! Teachers keep track of each student's H.A.B.I.T. points each week, points are gained or lost each day due to performance in the 5 areas of H.A.B.I.T. Students also earn raffle tickets for these areas.

H stands for homework. Get it done and turn it in on time!

A stands for attendance. Be at school every minute of every day!

B stands for behavior. Be polite and cooperative!

I stands for initiative. Do the things you know you should be doing!

T stands for traveling. Hands off and voices quiet in the hall!

H.A.B.I.T. Heroes and Superheroes are determined each week from students' H.A.B.I.T. points. On the first day of each week, Westport students who are Heroes and Superheroes from the previous week join together in the multipurpose room for a "H.A.B.I.T. Hoorah" Assembly to kick off the week. Raffle tickets are placed in buckets for each of the areas and student's win prizes if their ticket is drawn from the bucket! You have to be present to win. The class with the best attendance from the previous week is celebrated, along with any birthdays in the building that week.

Every student should remember to wear their H.A.B.I.T. shirt every Monday!
