Mrs. Bear has placed an "Art Needs Tree" in the hallway outside of the music room. If you would like to contribute one of these items, please take the post-it note with the item on it, purchase the item and return it to the art room. Thanks! |

| MSU Bears Visit Westport | |

MSU Bears VisitThe visit to the Westport Library Media Center today by Missouri State University Ice Bears Joe Cero and Sam Dean was a success. Excitement was high as KSPR filmed part of the presentation. As students in kindergarten are focusing on the letter Z this week, the players read the book Z is for Zamboni: A Hockey Alphabet by Matthew Napier. Cero and Dean also answered questions from the KWL chart students had prepared with Library Media Specialist, Shellie Foltz, during the classes leading up to the visit. Students followed the guests' lead in demonstrating some of the signals for calls made during games as well. The classes showed their appreciation by singing the ABC song to our guests and several took the opportunity for high-fives and handshakes on the way out. Cero and Dean told students that they had both begun playing hockey when they were around the same age as these Westport students. |
| Westport Food Drive | Box Top Collection |
 This is a picture of the abundance of food items Westport collected for Ozarks Food Harvest! We donated over 2100 food items!!! The food drive was organized by the Westport Student Council. I am so proud of our students. They just wanted to give, and every item meant so much. |  Our PTA is collecting Box Tops again this year. Each quarter, the class who brings in the most Box Tops earns a party! Just clip the Box Tops logo off of any participating product and send it to school with your child. The money earned from Box Top collection is being placed in a fund for new playground equipment, so let's get collecting! For a complete list of products with Box Tops labels, click here. |

You must have your student or staff id number to complete account setup. If you need further assistance please contact Joyce Lancaster at jlancaster@spsmail.org. | Doors open at 8AM for breakfast. Students are not allowed in classrooms until 8:30 AM. School starts at 8:45 AM. Anyone arriving later than 9 AM will be counted tardy. School dismisses at 3:30 PM. |
