Sequiota Mission Statement |
From the Principal’s Desk
January 30, 2012
We have reached mid-year, a time for reflection. Students and staff are assessing where we are in comparison with where we need to be by the end of the school year. For many, now is a time of celebration of hard work and accomplishments; others may take this opportunity to set new goals. Access to achievement, behavior, and attendance data allows us to determine our levels of success individually and as a school community. Students and teachers, then, may adjust their activities and goals based on their weekly classroom data. Ours is a system based in a philosophy of continuous improvement. We are always trying to get better!
As of today, we have many reasons to celebrate! We had fifty students who had perfect attendance for the first semester, and 269 students have an attendance rate of 95% so far this year. Our school goal is 97%--definitely achievable! We have updated computers and other technology to allow for more interactive learning. We are always seeking information and strategies to improve learning opportunities for our students. As parents, YOUR support is one of the most important elements of our efforts to improve. Each time you check a folder, help with homework, read or study with your child, or make an effort to get him/her to school, you are taking one more step in ensuring your child’s success in school and in life. As always, thank you for walking with us, side by side, to help our students achieve their dreams!
Sincerely,
Kristi Johnson
