He plays football and basketball. Bailey is a 6th grader at Jarrett Middle School. She likes soccer, basketball, softball, and texting her friends. Q: How long has Mrs. Ratcliff been teaching? This will be my 9th year of teaching. I worked in banking awhile and stayed home with my kids until 2001. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from MSU and began teaching at York Elementary. I transferred to Sequiota in 2005. I completed my Masters in Education (Leadership) in May 2008. For the past two years I was the principal at Delaware Elementary Summer School. I've taught 1st grade, 4th grade, 4th/5th combination classes, and 5th grade. Fifth grade has been my favorite because I get to prepare students for middle school. Q: What are some of Mrs. Ratcliff's favorites? Food: Pizza, St. George's Donuts, Coffee with flavored creamer, Chocolate Sport: Anything my kids are playing. I really enjoy watching basketball and football. I played basketball in high school and was a varsity cheerleader. My husband played football for Missouri State and currently coaches at Jarrett Middle School. Hobby: I love to read realistic or historical fiction! I get caught up in a good book and forget to do anything else. I also enjoy movies. Comedies are currently my favorite. Students: I really like students who are willing to take a risk, try something new, and learn from their mistakes. I encourage you to be bold and gain confidence through your successes and failures. Book: To Kill a Mockingbird changed the way I viewed reading. I was so captivated by the story that I couldn't put it down. I was drawn into the injustice of it all. My favorite children's author is Patricia Polacco. Quote: "Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all." ~Helen Keller Q. What are you passionate about? My faith is something I am passionate about. I'm very involved in my church and spend several weeks each summer working at children's church camp. My family is a number one priority for me. I love spending time with my husband and kids. We always seem to have extra kids at our house, and I enjoy the laughter they bring.
