French Club had been an active club at Parkview for many years. The specific activities vary yearly, depending on the interest of the members. The members and sponsor plan events of a social and/or cultural nature, which take place about five times a year. New suggestions for activities and energetic members to plan them are always welcome!

Our activities include attendance as a group at performances of French plays, singers, dancers or music at Hammons Hall, or on the Missouri State University or Drury campuses. We have movie nights with English sub-titled French movies and game afternoons after school (French versions of Scrabble and Monopoly). Of course each event is always accompanied by French food that is an integral part of our club.

The first meeting of the year takes place early in September. At this meeting we elect officers, plan the club's first event and decide if we want to create a club t-shirts.

In October we join in Viking Fest activities by introducing the other students at PHS to French delicacies such as crepes, baguettes and cheese. December is the month to deck the halls with French holiday wishes, share in filling food baskets for those less fortunate and gathers at a member's house for a holiday party with carols and food.

In March we travel with the Spanish club to Kansas City to visit the Truman Library and shop and relax on the Plaza.

You do not have to speak French to belong to our club. All you need is an interest in learning about French culture and an enthusiastic spirit to help plan out activities.
