Mrs. Jeannie McLaughlin and Ethel Breithaupt are the librarians at Phelps Center for the Gifted.  About eight hundred and fifty students come through the Phelps Library each week.  Our library consists of a great reference collection, a 500+ title video collection, a large nonfiction collection and a fiction collection that contains many of the classics.

We are very excited to be in our beautiful new library.  I hope you will take the  opportunity to come in and see what a good learning environment students  have in the media center.

Students come to the library to do research for their Thinking Skills classes and for Major Unit classes.  All classes use The Big Six Information Seeking Strategies.  We are fortunate to have eighteen  Internet stations for student research.  This year students will have available EBSCOhost , Gale Group, Sirs and World Book online to do their research.

The Phelps Library Media Center is open before school and during lunchtime for students to check out books for pleasure reading.  Our collection continues to grow as students express interest in different topics.
