Our STEP CLUB ~ 2011-2012

Horace Mann's STEP CLUB is open to students & family members and faculty. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday to walk from 8:00 to 8:20 on Holt track before school starts for the day. During inclement weather the STEP CLUB walkers use the halls of Horace Mann. 

When members  have completed a certain amount of minutes,  they earn special STEP CLUB incentives. 

The goal of the club is to walk and learn to live actively. Mrs. Maxwell supervises the walkers and keeps track of their time. 

Springfield Greene-County Park Board & Mrs. Maxwell are sponsoring our club.

The Minute Chart at the right will show the walkers and monthly minutes they have already walked since October1,  2011.

This year we are participating in the "Step Club Challenge". The Step Club who walks the most minutes during a month gets to keep the traveling trophy for a month.
NEWS FLASH!!!

We WON that honor for the month of October by walking 4,910 minutes altogether!!! 
We WON the honor again for the month of November by walking 6,800 minutes together!!! That equals approximately 352.3 miles!!!
We WON the honor again for the month of December by walking 5,820 minutes altogether!!! That equals approximately 300.7 miles!!!

At the end of our 2010-2011 school year our STEP CLUB walked 35,015 minutes!!! That is an accomplishment!!! Thanks to all the parents and adults who helped us achieve this . . . Keep Steppin'!
