Meet Ms. Viehland

Ms. Viehland graduated from S.M.S.U. in Springfield, MO in 1998. She received her B.S. in Elementary Ed. with an emphasis in early childhood and music education. Ms. Viehland started her teaching career in 1998 as the computer classroom aide at Horace Mann. The next year she moved to Ed V. Williams Elementary, where she taught 1st grade one year and 2nd grade for five years. She received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Drury University in 2003. This year marks Ms. Viehland's 14th year in the classroom. Ms. Viehland believes that all children can learn if given the opportunity to grow and change through their experiences and successes. She loves making learning exciting and fun, and enjoys watching her students progress throughout each school year. Mrs. Viehland’s favorite part of being a teacher is "guiding her students to make discoveries for themselves".

Ms. Viehland was born in Harrison, Arkansas. She lives with three sons, Samuel age 11, Henry age 7, and Jack age 5. She loves spending time with her family and enjoys weekend outings. Ms. Viehland’s hobbies are decorating, scrap booking, jewelry making, and antiquing. Book: "The Little House . . ." series by Laura Ingalls Wilder
