Mrs. Powell started with Springfield Public Schools at Shady Dell in 1998. She substituted or has worked at summer school at 14 other school libraries. Mrs. Powell has also worked at the SPS Library Office and enjoyed seeing the new books schools ordered for their libraries. She joined the Mann family in 2003 as the library clerical on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Mrs. Powell enjoys seeing kids pick out books they enjoy reading. |

| Mrs. Powell was born in Joplin, Missouri and grew up near Seneca, Missouri on the Missouri/Oklahoma border. She has 4 children, Gena, Sharon, Alan and Ryan and 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Jared, Megan, Lindsey and Gabe. Her son, Ryan, was an A+ Tutor here at Mann for 2 years.
