Chief Time Library Usage

Juniors and Seniors: If you want to use the library during Chief Time, you must get a pass from the librarians before the end of 2nd hour on Chief Time day. This includes Chiefs, Warriors, and OTC Students.

Freshmen and 1st semester Sophomores - not allowed to initiate travel

Freshman and Sophomores: Because you do not have travel privileges, you must do 2 things to use the library during Chief Time. 1. Get a green pass from the teacher who wants you to work on an assignment. 2. Bring the green pass to the librarians before the end of 2nd hour on Chief Time Day and trade it for a Chief Time pass.

•2nd semester Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors – may initiate travel to the library (be sure to get a pass before the end of 2nd hour in the library)

• *If you have a green pass or a planner pass, you must trade it in for a library lab pass in the library.

The librarians would like to help you,
so please ask if you need assistance!

No drinks or food in the carpeted sections of the library.
High school libraries charge fines on overdue materials.
Most books are checked out for 2 weeks; a few are overnight or for the hour
.

Copy machine: Black & White = 10 cents per page
Color = 25 cents per page
Pick up your printouts at the check-out counter. Cash only, no charges.
Please use designated slot to return books (books left on counter could be still checked out in your name!)

All Springfield school libraries share their holdings with each other—if you find a book at another school, just ask the librarian to get it for you. It takes about 3 school days to get a book.

The KHS library has lots of computers for you to use—but please follow the rules! NO GAMES, NO CHAT ROOMS, NO DOWNLOADS!

At the beginning of school, each student received at home access sheets. Keep these sheets by your home computer. They contain user names and passwords for you to access online databases from home. This literally gives you a research library in your own home anytime day or night!

All library computers have: Word • Publisher • Excel • PowerPoint
