Dear Jeffries Jaguar Families,

I hope this letter finds you enjoying the summer with your family and loved ones. The Jeffries’ Team is looking forward to another fantastic school year!J This letter is to inform you of some important upcoming dates and information you will want to keep in mind. Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Students may begin arriving at school at 8:15 a.m. (no one is available before 8:15 a.m. to supervise children) and students need to proceed to the All Purpose Room until released to classrooms.  Should you need daycare prior to 8:15 a.m., the YMCA Prime Time Program is available both before (beginning at 6:30 a.m.) and after school (until 6:30 p.m.) for a fee.  You may pick up an enrollment application in the Jeffries’ office or call the YMCA directly (862-7456). Here are some other upcoming dates to put on your calendar:

New Student Enrollment (city-wide)- August 11, 2010 from 8:30AM-3:00PM at each elementary site.

Class Lists: will be posted Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 4PM

Meet the Teacher– Friday, August 20, 2010 from 4-6PM. Teachers will have a sit down, informational meeting with parents at 4:30 and again at 5:30. We recommend that K-2 parents attend from 4-5PM and 3-5th grade parents attend from 5-6PM.Teachers will be in their classrooms from 4-6PM to meet/greet.

First Day of School– Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Classes begin at 8:45 and end at 3:30PM. Students may not arrive before 8:15 unless enrolled in Prime Time. All students must either ride the bus or be picked up at 3:30PM daily (unless enrolled in Prime Time). Thank you for your assistance! Prime Time’s Number: 862-7456. 2010-2011 enrollment forms are now available in the front office.

Open House– Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 5-7PM. K-2nd from 5-6PM and 3-5th grade from 6-7PM. (If you have multiple siblings, please feel free to go from one classroom straight to the next).

Our theme this year is: “Wild About Learning!” We will focus on character and academic excellence daily and celebrate at our monthly character education assemblies. Every month, I will be sending home a Parent Newsletter with updates, celebrations, and other important information. Please look for these in your child’s backpack (typically sent home the last Friday of each month). In addition, our website is: http://sps.k12.mo.us/jeffries. As always, my door is open so please do not ever hesitate to stop by or call me should you have any questions or concerns.
