In the early
morning hours of November 1, 2007, the concrete slab was
poured. It won’t be long now before we start
seeing steel!

As many of you have seen by now, a construction fence
has been erected to keep students, parents, and staff out of the
construction zone. This is to ensure the safety of everyone. We
need your cooperation with following this rule. Our playground
will be temporarily housed on the east side of the building since
our old playground will be used for staging. The old bus loading
zone will be off limits. Gates will be placed on this road to ensure
that the only vehicles that can access this road would be construction
vehicles. Due to the amount of construction and the scope of the
air conditioning project, the substantial completion date has been
extended to November, 2008.
Walkers
Students
walking on the east side of Cox Road headed south toward
the school need to use the Ozark
Greenways trail (behind the school) as they walk
to and from school. The sidewalk located in the old bus
loading zone will be off-limits for walkers.
Bus Parking Buses
will
be
using
the
car
line
and will be temporarily
parking in the
fire
lane (we did receive
permission from the Fire Marshall to do this—as
long as bus drivers remain in the bus and keep
the bus running). PLEASE do not park
in this location. Also, please do not double park
in the car line in the parking lot. When this happens,
our buses cannot make their way to the front of the
school.
Wanda
Gray is getting some new additions thanks to the passage
of the bond
last year.
That means we’re getting the following:
- 5 new kindergarten classrooms
- air conditioning
- a new gym
- an expanded library
- new office space/front
entrance
- other renovations
