February 2012

Dear Wanda Gray Families,

Where does the time go? Can you believe that we are already starting the month of February? What a great year we have had so far at Wanda Gray Elementary. I am so proud of the growth we have seen in our students this year. It was very exciting to see the middle of year assessment scores on the students. The teachers and students have worked very hard!

The 3rd and 4th grade students will be preparing for the MAP the next several weeks and please notice that the test window for the MAP is April 2-20 and it would be very helpful if you would not plan any appointments during that time frame. Smart Boards have been installed in all of our classrooms and we are very excited to get trained and use the wonderful technology provided to our students from the 2009 Bond Project that was passed. Thank you Springfield voters for supporting our schools!

We look forward to seeing many of you at our Valentine’s Day party on February 14 at 2:30. If you are at school to help with the party it would be very beneficial if you could leave with your child at 3:30 so we can get buses and car line moving right at dismissal. It was wonderful to see all the wonderful holiday parties in December. Thank you parents for assisting with extracurricular things at school. We have great support at Gray from all our families

For the Students,

Angie Carder
