Frequently
Asked Questions
- Contact the Nominating Committee
It
is that time of year again! The Nominating Committee
for Wanda Gray PTA will present the slate of officers
to the General Assembly at the February Meeting.
We will take a vocal vote at the March General Assembly
meeting as long as there is only one nominee for
each elected officer position. If you are interested
in becoming an elected officer, be sure to let Missy
Penkalski know by February 1 (lilmissyp@sbcglobal.net).
She, or someone from the Nominating Committee will
contact you about your interest!
Wanda
Gray PTA wants to find a way to employ every parent
with a heart for service to the students,
the school and the community. We can use you even
if you only have an hour a month to spare! Many
Committee Chairs will be changing in the 2012-2013
school year
and we always have open chairs. Come and be a part
of a powerful voice for the students
Congratulations
to the February Teacher of the Month: Paula
Allison and the February Staff Member of the Month: Carol
Burnum!

*NOTE: Your child must first be screened for the Wonder
Years program. Enrollment into the program is based upon
the screening results. Screening does not ensure placement
in the Wonder Years program. In May, pre-enrollment forms
will be mailed to families whose children have a qualifying
screening score. Families will receive an acceptance
letter in June if their child is offered a placement.
For more information contact the Wonder Years office
at 523-1300.

Bobcat Corner is
the Cent's of Pride store that Wilson's Creek and
Wanda Gray helps sponsor in Bissett Elementary.
The store was created to provide students
with the opportunity to spend dollars that they have
earned through good behavior.
Every day students at Bissett Elementary have
the opportunity to earn a behavior dollar. Twice a month
they are given time to shop in the store
with the money that they have earned from their teachers.
This program has grown over the last year. Currently
there are four elementary schools and one
middle school that have Cents of Pride stores with others on the
waiting list.
How can you get
involved in this great program, you
ask? There are three ways you can be involved: donating
items, donating your time or by spreading
the word
about the store. Read
more ...!
Please
Mark Your Calendars and support WG PTA!
Did
you know that we earned over $1,400.00 for Wanda
Gray last
year through Box Top Collections?? This money went
into our general fund
help fund and support all of the programs offered
by Wanda Gray PTA, in
to helping with many little things around the school
that have been
needed in the past year, like analog clocks for all
of the Kindergarten
classrooms.
Thanks
to all of the points collected through “Labels
for Education” Wanda Gray PTA has been able to
purchase for the school a large
paper shredder, several CD players, and lots of equipment
for
Coach Graham!
Did
you know that there are only two times during
the school year that we can return the Box Tops for
credit?
The collection date is at the end
of February. Read
about upcoming contest!!
The
library is looking for gently used books to add to
its collection. Feel free to drop off any used book
to Ms. Bueno in the library.
