School Resources
Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist:
Can provide an assessment to determine functioning
of student and what recommendations are appropriate
for student. Can work with students within the
school setting or refer out to community resources
if needed. Assessments can be done due to school
suspension or at parent request. Screening can
be provided for students through the Student Assistance
Team.
Student
Assistance Team (S.A.T.): The S.A.T. is a group
of teachers, counselors,
administrators, and other support staff that
work to address needs of students in efforts
to make
their time at school more productive. Referrals
can be made by a parent, student, or any
faculty member. There are Student Assistance
Teams in each
high school and middle school. After a referral
is made we will gather information from the
student's teachers and then route the referral
to an appropriate
counselor or support person. Referrals are
confidential, so if you decide to voice a concern
for a student,
your name will not be revealed to the student.
