Mrs. Amanda Bodenstein is beginning
her 4th year in the Social Studies department at
Glendale. She graduated from MSU with a degree
in History Education and she will graduate in May
with her Masters of Science in Education with an
emphasis in History and Psychology. She teaches
World History Honors, Psychology, Sociology and
the new social studies class on the Holocaust.
She has been married for 9 years and they have
a beautiful two-year old daughter named Kadence
Elise. Her husband is a physical education and
health teacher at Clever Junior High School and
he coaches basketball and baseball. In her spare
time she enjoys spending time with her family,
cooking, scrapbooking, reading and watching movies.
Mr.
Dylan Clifton is beginning his 14th year at Glendale
High School. He teaches Advanced
Placement Human Geography, Economics – Weighted,
and Psychology. After attending the University
of Cincinnati and Miami University, he graduated
from St. Francis Central School of Nursing. In
addition, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in
Social Science and Communication Arts from Evangel
University and a Master’s Degree in Educational
Administration from Missouri State University.
He also did graduate studies in Environmental Science
at Drury University. Mr. Clifton is the sponsor
of the Falcons Against Destructive Decisions (FADD)
club.
Mr.
Doug Gardner is in his 7th year at Glendale in
the Social Studies department. This
is Doug’s 17th year of teaching. He is married
with two daughters. His wife is also a teacher
in the district. Mr. Gardner enjoys running, golf
and playing fast pitch softball in his free time.
Mr.
Ken Hopper teaches Social Studies. He is a graduate
of the Springfield Public Schools.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree from SMSU, a Master’s
Degree from Northwest Louisiana, and a Specialist’s
Degree in Administration from SMSU. Mr. Hopper’s
wife, Connie, is a stockbroker with Great Southern
Investments.
Mr.
John Melton teaches World History and AP World
History. He earned his Bachelor’s
and MA degrees at SMSU. He taught high school Social
Studies at Seymour High School for four years,
and history at SMSU and Drury. He enjoys traveling
with his wife Barbara, baseball and reading. He
landscapes in the summer.
Mr.
James Nordine (WEBSITE) is originally from Rochester,
Minnesota and has lived in Southwest
Missouri for 3 years. He is entering his 2nd year
here at Glendale and will be teaching World History
and Liberty & Law. He attended Rochester Community
and Technical College (now a branch of the University
of Minnesota) and then received his Bachelors of
Applied Arts from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
He enjoys spending time with his wife, who works
as an ICU Nurse at St. Johns Hospital. The Nordine’s
will be expecting twins in November, a boy and
a girl. Along with teaching, he is also the Student
Council sponsor as well as helping to lead the
GHS Cabinet.
Mr.
Mike Snodgrass is in his 24th year at Glendale.
He comes from a family of teachers.
Mr. Snodgrass graduated from SMSU with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Business Education and a Master’s
Degree in History. He is the Social Studies Department
head. Mr. Snodgrass enjoys talking about politics
and baseball. Teaching AP Government, American
Baseball History, and Liberty and Law is perfect
for discussing his two favorite topics. He enjoys
all sports, and participates in fast pitch softball
and bowling. Mike is the assistant baseball coach,
the Academic team sponsor, and Sons and Daughters
of Liberty sponsor. Mr. Snodgrass has been married
to his wife, Tracy, for 27 years. They have two
sons; Tyler 21, and Zachary 18, and a dog named
Rowdy.
My name is Matt Walker and I graduated
from Missouri State University in 2007. This is
my 4th year teaching, and 1st year at Glendale
High School. I spent two years teaching at Marion
C. Early High School and one year at Halfway High
School. I will be teaching American History and
World History this year as well as an assistant
coach for football and baseball.
