Mr.
Fred Fotsch is starting his 21st year at Glendale.
He received his undergraduate
degree in Chemistry at SMSU. In addition, he has
earned a Master’s Degree in Science Education.
He enjoys teaching, learning, friends, family,
individual sports, and travel.
Mrs. Kathy McGrane has 14 years of teaching experience
in Iowa, Massachusetts and Missouri. She received
hEr B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Northern
Iowa and M.Ed. from Iowa State University in Curriculum
and Instructional Technology. She enjoys spending
time with her husband and two young daughters.
Mrs. Justine Lines has been a science
teacher in the SPS district for 13 years and was
most recently at Kickapoo High School teaching
Biology. Last year, she went to Costa Rica and
taught high school biology at an International
High School in Escazu, Costa Rica. She has also
worked with Water Quality Issues as well as working
at the Discovery Center and with technology in
the classroom. She has a 20 year old daughter who
attends school at the University of Chicago and
her husband teaches photography at MSU. Justine
enjoys canoeing, hiking, reading and playing with
her dogs.
Mr.
Mark Penticuff has been teaching at Glendale
since 2000 and is entering his 17th
year of teaching overall. He has a Master’s
degree in Biology from MSU and teaches Introductory
Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology, and Advanced
Biology. He is married (Jill) and has three children:
Derrick (14), Stephanie (12), and Evan (10). His
other interests include racing, most any sport,
playing the keyboard, and home improvements. He
has served as a Raceway Ministries Chaplain for
8 years and currently drives the #2 late model
racecar in the Show-me Racing Series (www.show-meracingseries.com)
where he serves as their chaplain. He has raced
stock cars in the past, finishing 6th in points
at Springfield Raceway and receiving the Sportsman
of the Year Award in 2005.
Mr. Charles Rey is beginning his
22st year at Glendale. Before this, he taught two
years at Fair Grove and one year at Lathrop. Mr.
Rey received his B.S. in Education and his M.S.
at Southwest Missouri State University. At Glendale,
he is a track coach. He has two children, Alex
20, and Jayne 18. He teaches Physics I and II,
Earth Science, Honors Earth Science, Biology, and
Integrated Science. Mr. Rey is a very active individual
who enjoys caving, hunting, weightlifting, and
bicycling.
Mr.
Joe Shantz is in his 4th year as a returning
teacher at Glendale. He teaches
Integrated Science I. He taught 8th Grade Science
at Pershing MS for 1 year, 16 years at Greenwood,
teaching Biology and Computer Applications, and
7 ½ years prior at Glendale, teaching Biology.
He is also an assistant football coach at Glendale
working with the defense. He has two sons, Ben,
a freshman at Duke and Riley, a junior at Glendale
this year. Mr. Shantz attended the University of
Arkansas for undergraduate work and graduated from
Drury University with a M. Ed in administration.
He is originally from Buffalo, MO.
Mr. Alex Sparks is in his 7th year at Glendale
and is teaching Earth Science and Integrated Science.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from SMSU,
with a double major in Geology and Environmental
Geography. He and his wife, Meredith, have one
daughter.
Mr. Steven teaches Integrated Science
and Biology. He has earned Bachelor degrees from
MSU, Evangel, and a Masters degree from William
Woods. Before coming to Glendale, he taught at
Study, Parkview, and Cherokee. This is his 18th
year teaching. He and his wife, Debbie, a Professor
of Education at Evangel University, have three
daughters. His interests outside of teaching are
cooking, gardening, and breeding tropical fish.
