What is the Reflections Program?

For 40 years, the national PTA Reflections Program has encouraged students across the nation and in American schools overseas to explore their artistic talents. This program was started in 1969 by Colorado PTA board member, Mary Lou Anderson. Since that time, the Reflections Program has become one of the most popular programs that National PTA offers.

The PTA Reflections Program is designed to enhance quality arts education for students in preschool through grade 12, encouraging them to create works of art in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts. More than 500,000 students participate through their local PTAs each year—millions over the course of the program’s 40 years.

The Reflections Program helps parents encourage the creativity and lifelong learning of their children, and offers children recognition for their artistic endeavors. Parents, teachers, and community members all play a critical role in providing a positive learning environment for children. Supporting the PTA Reflections Program is one way you can increase student achievement, foster student talents, and promote the arts in your home, your school, and your community.

Visit the PTA page for more information about the Reflections program.

Parents and Glendale Supporters,

Have you sent in your contribution to the PTSA Capital Fundraising Campaign (CFC)?

Please give what you can, and send to the Glendale Office (2727 S. Ingram Mill Rd. * Springfield, MO 65804) to the attention of PTSA Capital Fundraising Campaign. Our budgeted goal is $15,000, and PTSA will use these funds for requests made by GHS teachers and administration throughout the 2010-2011 school year, to benefit all GHS students.

If everyone participates we CAN reach our goal, so if you have not already sent yours, please send in your check TODAY!

GO FALCONS!!!

Last year the funds raised from the capital campaign paid for the following:

*computerized sign for the front lawn
*wireless microphone for the drama department
*solar calculators
*library books
*art history materials for art classrooms
*air filter and spindle sander for art classes
*electronic component upgrade for programming class
*car seats for "Baby Think It Over" program
*yoga mats for PE classes
*paper shredder for the English department

To reach our goal we ask that every Glendale family participates in this campaign! All Falcon students will benefit from these funds, and each contributor will receive a tax-deductable thank you letter for tax purposes.

A Note From PTSA to Parents:

It has been brought to MYAA's attention that the Campbell 16 Theater in Springfield began serving 32 oz. beer, martinis and wine in the theater; they allow the alcohol to be taken into the dark theaters as well.
