Dr.
Matt Pearce - Principal
Fourth Quarter
2013
As most of you know, I have accepted an Assistant
Superintendent position with the Republic
school district for next year. Glendale is
a great place to come and work and learn
each day, and the decision to apply for
this job was not easy. I very much enjoy
our students, staff, and community here
at Glendale, and I will always remember
the support I received while my youngest
daughter was in St. Louis Children’s hospital.
The next Principal will be lucky to
have such a wonderful school!
A
special thank you goes out to the Glendale
community for your support of
the recent bond and levy on April 2nd.
When looking at the data, it was very
clear that our attendance area helped
pass each of these endeavors.
Support
of our students and staff are trademarks of
the Glendale community. We anticipate
that architects will be chosen for the library
and cafeteria this summer. The
planning phase will last through the fall
with construction most likely to begin in
the summer of 2014. During this time
Glendale will also receive wireless upgrades
so that any classroom would have
the option to use a wireless laptop cart
with all students being able to access the
internet with a laptop. This is important
because it opens up different and new
learning opportunities to all students and
staff members.
April
23 -24 Glendale students will be arena scheduling.
The schedule has
been built using student choices and
now students will have the opportunity
to choose the order they would like to
take those courses. Students will be
called to the arena based upon their cumulative
attendance for the school year.We
are very excited about completing our schedule
this way, and we look forward
to getting student and teacher feedback.
Finally, we recently received our preliminary
MSIP 5 accountability report for
the 2011-2012 school year. Glendale was
seven tenths of one percent away from
being named a high school accredited
with distinction, which is a very high
honor. The accountability measures have
increased dramatically on high schools,
and I am very proud to say that Glendale
earned such high marks.
We
hope that you find this information useful,
and if you have any questions please feel

are now on Twitter@ghsdailynews.
GO FALCONS!
