General
Volunteers Needed
Head
Room Parent
This person is in charge of organizing planning meetings, coordinating
wishes of teachers and incorporating special needs of the students
(such as food allergies) into the two classroom parties near
the holidays and Valentine's Day. Together with classroom helpers,
head room parents may be asked occasionally to assist PTA with
special projects or events. Some teachers may ask this person
to coordinate parental involvement for field trips or classroom
activities.
Classroom
Helper
Volunteers
assist the Head Room Parent in planning and preparing the 2 classroom
parties (Holiday and Valentine parties), and may be asked to assist with
field trips and other classroom activities. Classroom helpers may also
assist some teachers with learning activities for the students. Some
teachers need classroom helpers to help with photocopying or other clerical
jobs. Each classroom helper will coordinate the exact duties and time
commitment with their classroom teacher.
Copy
Room
Volunteers
assist office staff and counselor with photocopying. Days and times are
flexible.
Fall
and Spring Book Fairs
Volunteers work directly with the librarian in one of the following ways: helping
with set up, working a shift during the book fair or helping with clean up. The
fall book fair is held in September during Open House.
Room
Parent
This person has the same duties as the headroom parent with
the exception of not having the responsibility of planning and coordinating
all the parents.
Library
Helpers
These volunteers assist the librarian in the normal
library duties. Volunteers coordinate the exact duties and time commitment
with the librarian.
Lunchroom
Helpers
Volunteers assist principal and faculty in the
lunchroom from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in maintaining order and helping students
who need assistance.
