TEAM DISNEY,

PTA has turned over box top collection monies to be used toward technology needs. Due to budget cuts, we have no technology funds; therefore, when items such as computers, printers, etc. fail, we have no monies from which to draw to replace them.

Download the lists of the items that have eligible labels. Check your cupboards, check your neighbor’s cupboards, and start tearing off those labels! Every little bit counts. Please continue to save over the summer, for the first collection of the new school year. THANK YOU!

HELP US HELP OUR SCHOOL through the Take Charge of Education program at Target stores

Visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate Disney, then use your REDcard whenever you shop.

When you use your REDcard, Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to Disney. You can get a REDCard at Target or by going to Target.com/redcard.

All family members, friends and neighbors are welcome to participate in this program. The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school!

Stop Bullying Now

Visit the "Take a Stand. Lend a Hand. Stop Bullying Now!" Campaign website.

Whether you've been bullied, you've witnessed bullying, you've bullied others or you're just curious - we think you'll have a lot of fun and learn a lot of things at this site!

Parents: As an adult, one of best ways you can help stop or prevent bullying is to be educated about, and sensitive to, the issue. Bullying is NOT a rite of passage - an undesirable, but sometimes unavoidable, reality of growing up. Rather, bullying is a serious public health issue that affects countless young people everyday. Further, research shows that the effects of bullying can last well into adulthood.

There are many things you can do to help.

Nurse Debbie and Nurse Liesl are asking for new or gently-used gym shorts and sweatpants so they can have them on hand in the nurses’ office. They are in need of both boys’ and girls’ items in all sizes.

Sometimes a situation occurs where a child needs a change of clothing. If your child comes home with any ‘new’ items, please wash and return them so the Disney nurses’ supply is replenished. Please drop items off at the Disney office.

Thank you in advance!!

Project Weller Update

We are very pleased to again be doing “The Weller Project.”

There is no money involved in this win-win situation. Disney is partnering with Weller Elementary to provide their school with gently used clothes or toys. We are ready to accept your donations right away and throughout the remainder of the school year. As you find your children have outgrown clothes and shoes, books, toys or even Halloween costumes, please send or bring these items to Disney!

Or, if you are interested in volunteering at the store, please contact PTA coordinator, Kim Acuff, at 886-9882 Your generosity will be greatly appreciated!!
