The
purpose of this program is to support projects designed to meet the seventh
National Education Goal by preventing violence in and around schools and by
strengthening programs that prevent the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other
drugs. The Safe and Drug Free Schools
grant provides for linkages between schools and communities and encourages
community-wide strategies in support of
providing safe, disciplined, and drug-free learning environments for all
young people.
