Art Lesson Plan: Bad Hair Day

Grade: Fifth Grade

Materials:

·        Black fine line markers

·        12” x 15” white paper or larger

·        Colored markers and/or crayons

Procedure:

·        Have students draw a head with facial details and a neck

·        They will then draw their names to do the beginning of Bad Hair.

·        They will either do fat letters or cursive writing around the hairline (like a rainbow) or out from the hairline like rays of the sun.

·        Using the fine line black markers create different patterns in the spaces created from the repeated names.

·        They can use crayons and/or markers to add color to their work (optional).
