Located in historic midtown in Springfield, Missouri, Central High school, Springfield’s oldest high school, is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer its Diploma Program for highly motivated, academically-focused students.  The program is designed for high school juniors and seniors, and offers a rigorous, pre- university curriculum for which students prepare during their freshman and sophomore years at Central. 

378 students are currently enrolled in either Pre-Diploma or Diploma level courses at Central, which has a student body of about 1,500.  The Pre-Diploma and Diploma staff consists of over twenty-five teachers in six content areas, a program coordinator, a DP counselor, and a secretary.  The Central IB Association (CIBA) is a parent-lead organization that also supports the efforts of our students and staff, which includes editing and publishing our newsletter and hosting various informational and social events throughout the year.
