Summer school will be held Monday, June 7, through Friday, July 2. Summer school registration begins Monday, April 12. The summer school catalog may be viewed at www.springfieldpublicschoolsmo.org.

Participants will take part in round-table discussions and seminars. The trip also allows for the delegation to interact with other coaches and some of the best aspiring athletes training at the USOC Olympic Center.

Central High School makes Newsweek list of top schools
June 18, 2009
Newsweek magazine has named Central High School one of 1,500 outstanding high schools in the nation for 2009. Central ranks 1,254 on the list as measured by the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at the school divided by the number of graduating seniors.
“This is obviously a tremendous honor for our school to be recognized on a national level,” said Principal Ron Snodgrass. “It is a valid recognition of what is happening at Central with our IB program and the success we’ve experienced.
Springfield Public Schools is the only school district in southwest Missouri to have one of its high schools named to the list.
Central made Newsweek’s 2008 list, ranking 1,306 out of 1,500 schools.

CHS Wrestlers in the News
July 4, 2009:
We made the news!!! We had over 30 high school, middle school, and elementary wrestlers walk in the parade to wave flags, eat ice cream, drink soda, carry banners, throw candy, and show their school/wrestling pride. We were the only sports team and the only school represented in the parade. A special thanks to Mr. Ingalsbe for helping us make the parade a success! We were shown on every news station and follow the links below to see the wrestlers marching in the 4th of July Parade:
