Transfers
Students who reside within the Boyd Elementary attendance area are able to enroll at any time at the school.
Students who do not reside with the Boyd Elementary attendance area but who do live within the Springfield Public Schools district are able to take advantage of the open enrollment policy to transfer to Boyd Elementary. This is permissible each year if space is available in the student's grade.
Boyd Elementary accepts transfers on a first come first served basis at the beginning of each school year. There is a standing waiting list maintained at the main office for transfer requests, but potential students will not be added to the list more than two years in advance of their desired year of enrollment. If you wish to place your student on the waiting list for possible admission contact the main office at 417-523-1500.
Transportation for transfer students attending must be provided by the parents/guardians. Maintaining a transfer status requires acceptable behavior and attendance rates. Once granted, a transfer is continual until fifth grade as long as space remains available.
Students wishing to continue the IB educational continuum to Pipkin Middle School's MYP (Middle Years IB Program) need to re-apply during fifth grade for that transfer.
