Boyd Elementary School first opened in 1908 and is today home to over 200 students. This active and diverse neighborhood works closely with the school to create a caring community for all our students.
The original school structure, a renovated home, is listed as costing the district $1,717.50 in 1908. The 1911 replacement structure, now listed on the National Historic Register cost $44,507 to construct.
An all-purpose room was constructed in the basement of the school in 1964 and the library/computer lab wing was added in 1988.
